Hi everyone,
I am thinking of purchasing an external hard drive for my laptop, as I keep running out of space and keep having to delete files and applications which can become time consuming.
I’m thinking of purchasing the Buffalo Drive-station 3.0 USB 4TB,
I’m just wondering if anyone knows, is this compatible with my laptop? I wouldn’t want to order it and wait a little while for it arriving to find it doesn’t work, or if anyone has any suggestions on a good external hard drive that works well with the HP Pavillion Notebook, please let me know, I appreciate it.
thanks,
Dane.

It should be compatible BUT it is a big external HDD and with 4TB you will loose a lot of files when it failed. I normally use 2.5" external 2TB HDD's, they are easy to manage and they do not need power supplies
There are dozens of models/products around from many manufacturers. You can find them at any good computer stores

A NAS using mirrored drives is a much better option if you want external storage. That way if one drive fails you still have a backup copy.
