Hey guys!
So I'm extremely annoyed by this issue of the purple hue in both video and images from the webcam. It's so bad as to render its use practically null. No doubt if you're reading this, you've come across at least one forum where this was asked -- not addressed, because in all of 'em there seems to be no fix. Folks have sent their laptops back, gotten a replacement and updated their drivers and the result is the same. I share in your frustration because I love my laptop, and it's particularly frustrating that HP can't seem to fix this one glaring yet simple issue in an otherwise great device.
So my question is: does anyone know whether this problem persists in the new Spectre X360, y'know, the one with the angled corners and the dedicated webcam switch for privacy? Or in the HP Envy? Sadly enough, in as much as I'd like to consider switching to another 2-in-1 device, it's kinda difficult to do now.
I appreciate your input.

@MTakashi If you've gone through all the steps in the page with 41 (42 now) replies and yet it hasn't been sorted, this could be a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

Hi. I'd be very interested to know if you ever find a fix for this. I didn't notice how bad it was until after my warranty had run out and I'm not really in a position to buy a new laptop - although the huge increase in video conferencing for so many situations means I might have to find a way... It's totally unacceptable for me to spend so much on this laptop with such a terrible piece of hardward included.
