Hello

I have been experiencing huge FPS drops in any game I play, from Outlast to Battlefield 1. It doesn't matter how old or demanding the game is. It doesn't matter if the game's graphics settings are set to 1920x1080 Ultra, or 1024x768 Low. I can play at 60-70 FPS, but every minute or so it drops to 15 FPS or less. My drivers and BIOS are up to date, CPU is unparked.

I have seen in some previous topics that a 150w power adapter could help fix the problem.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If Wes Notebooks says needs a 150w adapter you can be pretty sure that is the problem and if you get one it will fix it.

What capacity PSU was delivered with the system?

HP Recommended

120w.

Does the fan ever cut off before fps drops or is the fan spinning pedal to the metal?

HP Recommended

I've just checked and it really does cut off before FPS drops.

Then it might be starved for power....hard to imagine though because a 120W laptop adapter is pretty heavy duty.

So what do I do?

I think my problem is just like this one.

Is there a way to fix this?

It's only been 9 months since I bought it.
