I tried everything already. I updated all my stuff and made sure to defrag anything that causes stress on the computer. When I rebooted, it says one of my cooling fans aren't working properly. I went to Best Buy the ask them how much it would cost, but they wouldn't give me a definite answer.
My real question is:
How much would it cost to fix this problem? (replacing the fan and checking to see what is wrong, etc)
I want to know the price before I do anything myself.
Thank you.

Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
That said, to make sure I'm on the same page as you are,
you've mentioned that you've already checked with the HP PARTS SURFER & the HP PARTS STORE, you weren't able to identify the part numbers for both the fans (CPU & SYSTEM FAN), and then you've contacted the HP PHONE SUPPORT and they didn't provide the details either, is that what you mean?
If yes, I recommend you tell me what exactly happen on the phone call you made, so that I can help you, accordingly.

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand the fan is making an excessive noise,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you performed necessary troubleshooting to identify that the issue is within the fan?
(use this link to diagnose or identify via a related post, if you haven't done it yet: https://hp.care/2KYM8Ts )
While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:
You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: https://hp.care/2AjuDql (And obtain the precise charges as well, as it depends from part to part & ofcourse, the region, so I can't give you a definite answer as such) And order it via the HP Parts store: https://hp.care/2opJbTq Or alternatively, Contact HP for setting up an order/service via phone support
HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:
* Open link: https://hp.care/2moMFSc
* Enter Product number or select to auto detect
* Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
* Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get a Case & phone number.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.
If you would like to thank me for my efforts to help you,
feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Have a great day!
