I just purchase a new HP Pavilion laptop on Black Friday 2018. The fan runs CONSTANTLY and is VERY LOUD. I didn't notice at first because there was always background television noise in the room. But now that I'm in my office where it's quiet, it is the first thing that I noticed. I've read other forum replies about the fan possibly needing to be cleaned. This laptop is brand new and not yet a week old. The fan starts immediately upon startup. I've even tried using a chill matt and elevating the laptop to keep it cool. It's extremely annoying in an otherwise quiet office. This would have been a deal breaker for me. Should have done more homework. Any [other] suggestions?

Could you please help me with the exact model name or the product number of your notebook.

 

Update the BIOS and Thermal framework drivers using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

 

Then, Update the computer using the HP Support Assistant.
