HP ENVY Laptop 17-ce0xxx
Linux

I have installed Linux Mint 19.2 on my HP ENVY Laptop (previously had Windows installed), and would like to access the onboard GPS (if any). I have installed the 'GPS Daemon' (gpsd) and tool (gpspipe). If i run 'gpspipe -r' I get the following reply ...

{"class":"VERSION","release":"3.17","rev":"3.17","proto_major":3,"proto_minor":12}
{"class":"DEVICES","devices":[]}
{"class":"WATCH","enable":true,"json":false,"nmea":true,"raw":0,"scaled":false,"timing":false,"split24":false,"pps":false}

... which suggests that either ...

1) There is no onboard GPS, or

2) I don't have the correct dtrivers installed

I'm happy to use a C/C++ API.

Any suggestions - thanks in advance.

I have not heard of an HP Envy machine which has this function. Most likely no GPS module but before we can help, we need to know what EXACTLY is your HP ENVY Laptop 17-ce0xxx ? Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).
