Hy
New to the forum, so a beginners question. I have as above mentioned laptop and from what i gathered my laptop is on BIOS version F.09 Rev.A and its working just great, till i put nvme samsung 961 m.2 disk. I would supposed to read/write=3500MB/s/1500MB/s. When i tested it the speeds woudnt go all the way, so i thought ok, its a motherboard issue something to do with the layers of nvme plugin.
When the new bios came F.26 Rev.A and it said under Fix and enhancements:

So, i send a laptop for a repair and the "technican" said it was a fan problem so they changed the fan with a new one. When i got the laptop back it was the same, no advances was made. So i took the laptop apart and i so the sink was not the right "shape". So i started lapping my cpu and gpu sink.
And after a couple of hours my cpu gpu heatsink was link a mirror. I installed the cpu gpu sink and change the paste with artic silver 5.
Now the temp of gpu is 69C under a 100% load and 79C cpu under 100% load, trying fur mark and prime 95. So the result is amazing. So now after i stop playing games like GTAV, the fans stop spinning after 20 minutes.
So my "goals" are achieved, the gpu, cpu sink wasnt in the "right" lines, maybe it was just in my case, but i really think that HP mest in this case.
I have picuters to show but cannot upload them.
So bottom line, the laptop is working beatifull after a hard 3 hours work LAPPING my cpu gpu sink and changing paste with artic silver 5.
Thank you and good night 🙂
If somebody needs help with anything contact me. 🙂
Happy to help

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have a new HP Pavilion 15-bc001nm laptop. You updated the BIOS to version F.26 Rev.A and the SSD started to perform much better, however, the fan noise increased. Now you have rolled back the BIOS to the older version and this helped in reducing the fan noise but with lag in the SSD performance. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that.
I'd like to know if the laptop heated up after updating the BIOS?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Please update the BIOS to the least one.
- If the Fan starts to make loud noise then please refer to the steps from this link to reduce fan noise.
- If the fan continues to be louder then I suggest you may try to install the HP CoolSense Technology. HP CoolSense Technology is a feature in some HP notebook PCs that combines hardware, software, and mechanical design to dynamically manage the temperature of a notebook, and help keep you comfortable while using it. This feature is available on supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.
I hope this information helps. Please let em know what happens. Cheers! 🙂

HI
I updated bios to final release and the fan is always on and i have a 26-30C cpu temp. So the cpu is running excelent, I even change the cpu and gpu thermal paste, with Arctic silver 5, and the temperature went down for like 5C. So the laptop is not overheating.
But the fan is not stopping even if under 20C. On older bios the fan stopped when it reached a specific temperature.

Well things change,
Went to bios and made restore default settings and the fans stopped being so load, so HURRRAAYY on this part.
But now i have a different problem. In the area around the CPU I7 6700hq there is a hissing sound, static like sound.
So 2 problems solved one to go. What could be doing that?
Thank you.

You're welcome. 🙂 I'm glad to know that the fan is not so loud now.
If the hissing noise is too loud then try performing a BIOS update. If the noise is too loud and issue persist then would suggest you to contact HP phone support to explore the hardware service options for your laptop.
Let me know what happens. Cheers! 🙂

Update: now with the summer heat laptop started to overheat while playing GTA V. So I took a drill and make bigger holes in bottom case of a laptop.
