Thank you in advance for input!!  I recently replace my HP 909700-850 battery with a generic battery because HP no longer sells this battery.  The new generic replacement battery will not charge.  The " ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery Driver" method did not solve the problem either.  Does faulty generic battery happen often or does my HP laptop dislike generic?  I did not perform a BIOS update because I am terrified of doing so.  Thanks again.

Hi,

I would try a different battery and make sure the adapter is functioning correctly.
