Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Everyone. I've been experiencing these 'glitches' and flickers on screen ever since I installed Windows 10 latest Insider Preview. I uninstalled and installed my graphics drivers and I have even reset my windows version with no avail. I dunno what to do here. I have attached examples of what is going on.

P.S. When I uninstall Intel's driver and use Microsoft's Basic Video Adapter the artifacts disappear. Device Manager Settings.pngGraphical Artifacts.png

Try hooking to an external monitor and see if the artifacts appear there. That will rule out an issue with the screen panel although it does not look like a bad screen Its actually not like any screen artifacts I have seen.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately even though I have connected a screen the flickering has not stopped.

Well that rules out a bad screen panel and focuses attention on the driver or video chip itself. The closest thing to that I have seen was caused by bad video memory. You don't see it with the Basic video driver installed because that kind of driver does not take advantage of extended video RAM. The only way to know for sure if its something weird with the new Windows 10 Build or a hardware issue is to install an older version of Windows 10 and see if its still there.

I suspect it has to do with the latest build of the insider preview and it not being compatible with the graphics drivers. I will try and install an older version of Windows just to be sure. Thank you again for the help 🙂

Update: I installed an older version of Windows even installed the drivers recommended by HP Support but the problem persists. Could it be the fact I updated my BIOS version to the latest one?

HP Recommended

Maybe but I am thinking you actually have a hardware problem with the video chip on the motherboard. Try UEFI diagnostics on the video system. Tap esc as you power up then F2 for component tests.

Update: I ran the component tests and none of them failed. I think this has to do with faulty drivers. The weird thing is that I installed the drivers supplied by HP for the computer and the issue persists.
