exactly !!!!
until a week ago wvweything was fine with win 10.. then win does updates the the driver is gone. I have spoken to microsoft on the phone and before they do automatic updates they inform all brands to upgrade their drivers... HP just ignored that..
I have win 10 since oct 2016 until a week and a half ago, if it was ok for over a year why not now?
Does HP think they are going to sell more pc´s this way????? NOT A PENNY FROM ME EVER AGAIN.
and i was told i cant change the graphic card only the hard discs which i did a long time ago...
HP has a solution.. updating a driver doesn´t take that long they just din´t want to thinking everyone is going to buy a new HP.. well they´re wrong, no one wants HP after this.

1. Other brands don't do it. Check Toshiba, Lenovo, etc. they do not continuously offer updated drivers for 8 year old laptops.
2. Exactly what am I wrong about? You got caught misrepresenting what you had -"original Windows 10" my foot- just to make your rant more sympathetic and got caught. You never talked to Microsoft on the phone about their driver policy. That is a hoax, too. If you had they would have told you that your video card is what-not supported in Windows 10. That is their official word on it.
The driver was not "working" as it was not fully supported. You can likely install the Windows 7 driver again in Windows 7 compatibility mode (that is likely what you were running on) and get your resolution back but it was never fully working with 3D acceleration and driver signing under Windows 10.

Hi neco5,
Please keep in mind this is a community-based forum.
Unfortunately, it seems like drivers are not available for your model, on Windows 10. As Huffer stated, there is no obligation in providing drivers for an 8-year-old laptop. You can try searching for drivers through Device Manager although it is highly unlikely it will work.
Device Manager > Display Adapters > Find your graphics > Right Click and select Uninstall device. Then reboot and try the same process again but this time update the drivers and select search automatically. I highly doubt this will work however.
Good luck,

yes i have done all that. When i legally upgraded my pc last year online windows first checks if your pc has the requirements needed and ir had and ir was upgraded.
If it couldn´t be upgraded microsoft wouldnt have done it and it wouldn´t have stopped last week,
ps: i know this a comunity help service, i am not being rude with anyone but the so called expert is calling me a liar.
we have microsoft in portugal which is who i first contacted, then they said it wasn+t their fault and told me to contact HP Portugal which is where i am and HP said they would see what could be done but nothing yet.. so what i am saying is the truth.
I am a lady and deserve respect as i give to others.
thank you, please keep that man off my post.

"respect"??? You came in here looking for a fight and you got one. I get very tired of the litigation threateners and the people who make stuff up. You are having a minor problem and you try to turn it into a rant against HP. If you apologize and we can start over we can likely get your screen resolution back. If you want to play the wounded victim you can keep doing that.

But of course. You were nice all along actually. What we have to do is have you "force install" the Windows 7 driver.
What is showing under Display adapters in your device manager...Window Basic?
This is the Windows 7 64 bit driver we will be using:

You gonna do this yourself or ask for help? That driver was issued in July, 2017 and the HD4650 has moved to a legacy only driver so recent drivers will not work.
If you want to use an AMD driver it has to be this one:
