Hi @Ojaswin1
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I'm sorry to hear about the grinding noise from your HP Victus 16's fan—it can be quite concerning. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and address the issue:
1. Clean the Fan and Vents
- Dust buildup can cause grinding noises. Use compressed air or a soft brush to clean the fan and air vents.
- Ensure the laptop is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
2. Adjust Fan Settings
- Open the HP Command Center app and set the thermal profile to Balanced or Quiet mode to reduce fan activity.
- Check if the noise persists after adjusting the settings.
3. Update BIOS and Drivers
- Visit the HP Support page for your laptop model and download the latest BIOS and graphics driver updates.
- Install the updates and restart your laptop.
4. Run Hardware Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly to access the Startup Menu.
- Select F2 (System Diagnostics) and run a test for the fan to check for hardware issues.
5. Inspect the Fan
- If the grinding noise continues, the fan may be misaligned or damaged.
