Hi! @WexyMaxy, I am the sandytechy20. It looks like you were interacting with @MKazi, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.
Thanks for the reply.
I appreciate your time and effort.
You don't have to turn on wifi to update BIOS.
And you don't have to recover the system.
Update the BIOS and run the hardware test as mentioned in the above post when you get time.
Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.
Cheers.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Pavillion 14 series laptop and the laptop overheats in 5 minutes after you power it on. I also read in your other posts then the DVD drive is not working and also you would like to clean the dust in the laptop. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Please let me know the exact product model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
It is probably because if the dust, the laptop is overheating.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Power off the laptop.
- Remove the battery out.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
Please refer to this HP document for Reducing Heat Inside the Laptop to Prevent Overheating. This link will also help in removing the dust.
Once I have the exact model no., I can help you with steps to open the laptop and clean the dust internally. Also, let me know if the DVD drive's tray opens if you press the eject button on it. If the tray is stuck then please insert a paper pin inside the tiny hole on the tray (near the eject button) and let me know if the tray opens.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂

HI
The product number is : P3U71PA#UUF
Just to let you know my laptop increse in heat whenever some program running. I do not know but when i check my task manager it said System Interrupt, causing the DISK column showed 100%. Then the surface of laptop that located Hard Disk becomes hot.
Actually this problem of overheating appeared after i was wrongly installed fake Torrent Opener. And the next day when i turn on my laptop was not like before. The surface becomes hot suddenly and the DVD tray suddenly sound "krekk" everytime i am not doing any job. When the tray "krekk" the two lights signal will light up and the graph of task manager increase until 100% for DISK but the CPU is just around 3,4-24%.
Could it be viruses have changed my machine?
Answer for DVD tray: yes it can be opened as usual. I just saying that it condition never back as before "krekk"

Thanks for replying with the information.
Installing a fake Torrent Opener may corrupt the operating system. But it may not make the laptop to overheat and make the "krekk" noise to appear from the DVD drive.
I suggest you to perform a BIOS update on your laptop. The charger must be connected during the BIOS update.
Once the BIOS update is successful, please run the hardware tests on the laptop by following the below steps:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Select component tests.
- You may run a test on the Optical drive, memory, processor, hard drive and the system board.
I still would recommend you to try performing the steps as suggested in the previous link too.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted. All the best! 🙂

Hi
Am i need to turn on Wi-Fi during the BIOS updating process?
What the effect for this updating? Am i will lost the OS and will need to recover the system?
And what do you mean by "Installing a fake Torrent Opener may corrupt the operating system"
The corruption process will be ongoing until now even after i have deleted the software?
So, everytime i am going for online the corruption will proceed?
