Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC (N100NT  / N9Q40EA) which has a discrete Nvidia GT950M & the on-board Intel video with a HDMI connector for an external display.

Can anyone confirm what HDMI version this supports (e.g. 1.4 a, 1.4b or 2.0) as currently a 25" Alienware Monitor I purchased which supports  is on 1920 x 1080 and max 240Hz.

1. Which HDMI version i have? (1.4 a, 1.4b or 2.0?)

2. Can i use my monitor 1920x1080 on 120 or 144 hz?

3. Can i use HDMI to Display port adapter to get 240hz?

4. Can i use USB3.0 to USB-C adapter and + USB-C to Display Port Adapter to get 240 hz?

Thanks

Hi,

If you look on page 3 of service manual for your product we see:

HDMI version 1.4 supporting 1920 ×1200 @ 60 Hz

Hope it helps,

As you can see in the appendix and picture  HDMI 1.4 had 144hz support.

Its then not real HDMI 1.4...maybe 1.2??

3. Can i use HDMI to Display port adapter to get 240hz?

4. Can i use USB3.0 to USB-C adapter and + USB-C to Display Port Adapter to get 240 hz?
