HP 14" bw066nr
I might purchase this laptop for college, I had a Toshiba that ran GREAT and I never had ONE issue with it but I ended up spilling a whole cup of Pepsi on it and it ruined the motherboard. So now i HAVE to buy a new laptop and this is basically the only option I have that my financial Aid will cover, if I want any other computer I'll have to buy it myself and right now times are rough lol its the HP 14" bw066nr Notebook. I literally just scoured the web for hours and couldn't find a SINGLE review about this laptop and I refuse to make any purchase without being informed about my decision. Someone please help me. I mainly use my laptops for regular school stuff, writing papers, sometimes editing videos because I'm a video journalism major. Other than that I'm just a Netflix addict and I also download a lot of movies and TV shows. Thats literally all I will be using it for. PLEASE PLEASE someone give me some knowledge and insight about this laptop!!!!!!!

I agree and will also add..

If you don't have your own money, then let financial aid pay for this if its the only model they will accept.

Just know that its a very entry level model, very basic. It wont be a speed demon in anyway but it will get the job done.

It will handle all that you asked about with the exception of Video Editing.

Of course this also depends on how extensive the editing is, the size of files used and the video editor program installed. The little AMD dual core will be slow at rendering as its only 1.5 Ghz base.

Since it only comes with 4 GB of ram, you will need to upgrade the memory so it can handle video editing more efficiently.  It will take up to 16GB of DDR4 2400.

Here is the official part used... 4 GB  862397-855 so you can order another and give yourself 8GB.

Or if you want to max it out at 16GB, you can use this website to get an idea of what to look for.

Rule of thumb, always use ram sticks that have the same specs, dont mix and match.

It states model bw015 but will work for the bw066nr notebook also...

@banhien I never said it was the ONLY option, I just said times are rough and this is the only one i can get with financial aid. I don't need to be questioned, I just need help in order to figure out if this computer is worth getting, or if I should start finding another way to get a better laptop. I've never had an HP, and like I said, I am never going to purchase something without knowing anything about the product..

@photoray thank you so much for giving me some good insight. I guess Im going to have to try to get another laptop if possible because video editing is a big deal for me. Worst come to worst ill do what you said and just add the capabilities I need.. but I feel like once I do all that I'm probably better off just getting a laptop that can do what I need it to do from the start without having to add all that memory n such.. but thank you for the very thorough answer and follow up links. I really appreciate you taking the time.

@RyyBoyy

If Video editing is your passion, then go for a PC that has all the CPU you can afford and not a measly 1.5 GHz base model like above. Video rendering will take all your CPU, so the better the processor, the faster it will get the rendering done.

You don't have to have a gaming video card per say, but depending on what you do, GPU power helps. But you do need as much cpu and ram as you can afford (16GB if possible).

I prefer an i7 7700, but with AMD Ryzen out now, its got great bang for buck value as the laptop versions start coming out soon. But whatever, if you need one now, you need it now.

Adobe Premiere Pro system requirements...

Good Luck.
