Hi,

This is a client’s pc with the issue of the "[" key getting stuck. This can occur during singing in or when signed in. It occurs anywhere text can be written.

The key doesn't seem to be stuck. It seems to be where it is supposed to be, not stuck down. I checked out this video here:

However, I want to find out if I can remove the keys on this laptop before trying to remove it. I don't want to break it.

So, anyone now if the keys can be removed on this keyboard?

Or, if anyone knows of a different issue that may cause this to happen and a possible solution?

Thank you!

John

Hi@Johnz414,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing Keyboard issues with the HP Notebook key getting stuck. I apologize for the Inconvenience.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Check if the key works fine on a notepad or command prompt.

For any hardware issue or repair please click on the link Phone Assist Worldwide
