Hi,

 I have a HP 15 Notebook (15-R132WM) currently. I'm in college and take notes on this laptop often. Therefore, I'm wondering if this laptop has the option/ability to have a backlit keyboard installed without disruption to the laptop's functionality?

Backlit keyboard alone won't work. You need a motherboard which have connectors to supply power for keyboard lights.

Yes, this is my laptop, but what motherboard do I need to get the backlit keyboard? If I get a new motherboard will I loose everything on my laptop?
