Hi,
I have a: HP Pavilion Notebook 15-ab223cl N5R49UA Product #N5R49UA
I've been having issues with the Laptop's power cord: A few months ago I noticed tha whenever I would move the laptop the BATTERY CHARGING ICON on the right hand corner, showed that the batter was charging but then a few minutes went buy and it would show that it wasn't charging.
I thought it was the connector on the inside of the Laptop, so I went ahead and ordered a new connector board and installed it. But the issue still persists. I have to move the power cord around until I find the right spot where the charging icon show's the "PLUGED IN/CHARGING icon.
Could it be the power cord tip that goes into the laptop, malfunctioning. The power cord is next to the RJ45 connector, and I ziptied the powercord to the rj45 cable, hoping it would solve the issue, but it's still happening.
Than you
Paul

I want to thank you for taking the time to speak to us today. Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
- 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
- 2. Expand batteries.
- 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
- 4. Shut down the computer.
- 5. Disconnect the charger.
- 6. Remove the battery. (only for removable battery)
- 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
- 8. Insert the battery only. (only for removable battery)
- 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.
-
If possible, try an alternate charger.
