Hello all,
To be frank I am bored today in quarantine and was wondering which motherboard can I use to replace the current one on my old laptop? I know it's not going to be cheap but I want to upgrade at least the CPU.

@WeirdIdeas Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you would like to upgrade the motherboard and processor.
(HP does not recommend upgrades as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed in HP articles are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)
Your product supports the following processor.
Processor 6th generation Intel Core processors
Intel Core i7-6500U (2.5-GHz, turbo up to 3.1 GHz, 4-MB L3 cache, 1600-MHz, dual, 15W)
Intel Core i5-6200U (2.3-GHz, turbo up to 2.8 GHz, 3-MB L3 cache, 1600-MHz, dual, 15W)
Intel Core i3-6100U (2.3-GHz, 3-MB L3 cache, 1600-MHz, dual, 15W)
5th generation Intel processors
Intel Core i3-5005U (2.0-GHz, 3-MB L3 cache, 1600-MHz, dual, 15W)
Intel Pentium® N3710 (1.6-GHz, turbo up to 2.56 GHz, 2-MB L3 cache, 1600-MHz, quad, 6W)
Intel Celeron® N3160 (1.6-GHz, turbo up to 2.24 GHz, 2-MB L3 cache, 1600-MHz, dual, 6W)
Intel Celeron N3060 (1.6-GHz, turbo up to 2.48 GHz, 2-MB L3 cache, 1600-MHz, dual,
You can check the manual as well.
You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx
And order it via the HP Parts store: https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx?mscssid=&ccode=ZZ&lcode=ZZ
Or alternatively, Contact HP for setting up an order/service via phone support
