Product: HP 15-bs020wm
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 15-bs020wm with the original 4GB DDR3L-1600 RAM.   I know the laptop is limited to a maximum of 8GB, but I'm wondering if the mother board can use DDR3 or DDR4 RAM chips, or is it limited to DDR3L.

You can only use DDR3 or DDR3L, but why DDR3 ? You won't get anything more, only hotter.

Thank you. I didn't realize that DDR3 performed hotter than DDR3L.  I also just realized (after some online research) that DDR3/3L and DDR4 are not interchangeable.  So, DDR3L it is.
