HP 15-da0031nc

The HP 15-da0031nc laptop has preinstalled 4GB RAM (plus 16GB  Intel Optan memory). Is it possible to upgrade the laptop with another RAM? In other words, is there a free slot for another RAM module?

Hi,

The max memory for your system is 16GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM (2x8GB)

There are two slots and at the moment you have one slot with 4GB stick and one empty slot. You can buy from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung...

This is what is written in the service manual. However, HP DDR4 will run with 32GB of RAM (2x16GB) which will be the actual max.

On page 42 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM:

@Kobko

For Intel processor machines, they have

  Two memory module slots (Intel Core processors):
  Memory is non-customer accessible/non-upgradeable
  DDR4-2400 dual channel support (8th generation Intel processors)

Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:
 ● 16384 MB (8192 MB×2)
 ● 12288 MB (8192 MB×1 + 4096 MB×1)
 ● 8192 MB (8192 MB×1 + 4096×2)
 ● 4096 MB (4096 MB×1 or 2048×2)

It is up to you, you need to contact  Authorized Service Provider parts to perform upgrade for you or TAKE A RISK to do it yourself.

Regards.
