This laptop is completely dead beacuse it will not turn on, and when pugging the power cord, the LED lights do NOT show any activity at all.
I checked the ac adapter with a multimeter hoping it might be the issue, but it provides 19v . I used a Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor to see if the laptop was acually pulling any electricity and the monitor shows 0.03 Amp. I replaced the power jack because it seemed the port was not very solid and the LED light never showed any activity, but after pluging the cord back, I did not see any change, except one time when the monitor started showing 0.5 Amp for about 15 mins, but still the LED light on the port OFF, I did try to turn ON the laptop at that moment but it is still dead. I unplugged the cord and reconnected it after a minute, and the monitor was back to the 0.03 Amps.
BTW, the warranty was recentrly expired and I am wondering if replacing the battery might fix the laptop, or if the issue is reallly the motherboard.
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hi Irwin6,
Thank you for your response to my message,
Unfortunately, the link just confirms what I wrote here about the warranty being expired, and it is because of this that I decided to post here the problem with this laptop hoping somebody else might have a similar issue and a possible diagnostic, or an advice on how I should proceed troubleshooting this laptop.
At this point, I am not sure why the LED on the power jack is always OFF when the adapter is connected, even despite after replacing that component. Is it possible the it is normal to be OFF if the battery is fully charged, and the problem might not be the power jack or the battery?
Is there actually a way to test the battery?

Hi @Gus714,
You do have the option to test the laptop hardware but for that the laptop has to turn on.
As the laptop is not powering on, there is no other option apart from getting the PC repaired.
I request you talk to HP Phone Support in your region to help you to sort it out as it requires advance support or repair.
Take care and have a good day.

Although I did not get the help I wanted, I appreciate that you took to time to answer my request for help.
I will try getting more information from other sources, and for now I found out the battery light will be OFF when I connect the AC adapter if the battery is charged over 95% , and also there is a possibility the issue might be caused be a failed power switch, so I will check that before assuming the motherboard is bad.
