Hello, I'd like to buy this laptop: HP 15s-eq2006sl.

Please, can you tell me if I'd be able to upgrade the RAM memory from 8GB to 16GB?

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, HP does not have a service manual for that model series.

 

The service manual (chapter 1) for the older model series that has the Ryzen 3xxx processors, indicates the memory can be upgraded.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

 

The 'not customer accessible or upgradeable' statement means that HP wants any upgrades to be done by an authorized service center.

 

If you look at chapter 5, there is a procedure to remove and replace the memory.

I contacted throug Facebook the italian HP support (I'm from Italy) and the official support in english. Both said to me that I can upgrade it till16GB.

My question is, can I trust about them? LOL

 

I also read that there are no memory slots accesible for the customer, I asked to the supoort what does it mean; they told me that this means that there are not external slots (easly accessible) and, in order to upgrade the RAM memory u have to open ur PC.

Hi:

 

Since I don't work for or represent HP, I can only give you the information that is available to the public.

 

The memory in the older models in the series could be upgraded.

 

Perhaps that's changed, but I doubt it.

 

Even the Crucial memory report for a very similar model as yours also sold in Italy, indicates you can upgrade the memory as much as 2 x 16 GB...

I just watched this video (it is about 15 and 15s-eq series) and it is very easy to upgrade so I think, that the PC that I wanna buy has both slots without soldered RAM memory.
