Microsoft Windows 11

I’m experiencing serious compatibility issues after attempting to upgrade my HP 15s-fq215np laptop.

### 🖥️ My laptop:
- Model: **HP Laptop 15s-fq2000**
- CPU: Intel Core i5 (11th Gen)
- Original RAM: 8 GB DDR4
- Original SSD: **KIOXIA NVMe KBG40ZNV256G (256GB, PCIe Gen3 x4)** – fully functional

---

### 💾 SSD upgrade attempted:
- **Model:** Kingston NV2 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0
- **Model number:** **SNV2S/1000G**
- **Issue:** After installation, the SSD is **not detected in BIOS**, boot menu, or Windows installer (`diskpart` shows no drive).
- Secure Boot is disabled
- Boot Mode is set to UEFI
- BIOS is reset to defaults
- SSD is properly installed (tested multiple times)

**Conclusion:** The laptop BIOS seems unable to recognize the Phison E21T controller used in the NV2 SSD. This appears to be a known issue with HP BIOS restrictions on certain controller types.

---

### 🧠 RAM upgrade attempted:
- **Model:** Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200MHz 32GB Kit (2×16GB)
- **Model number:** **CMSX32GX4M2A3200C22**
- **Issue:** After installing the new RAM, the laptop powers on, but the **screen stays black**, and the **Caps Lock LED blinks once repeatedly**, indicating a **memory POST failure**.
- Tested each module individually in both slots
- RAM contacts cleaned
- System only boots normally with the original 8GB RAM module

---

### What I need:

1. Confirmation whether the **Kingston NV2 1TB** is compatible (or not) with this specific HP model
2. Confirmation whether this **Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz kit** is supported (or if HP BIOS blocks XMP or custom timings)
3. Any known BIOS updates or configuration changes that could resolve either issue

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.

Best regards,
Erick Hipolito

Hi @15s-fq2000y

the first thing to do is to download the Intel RST driver, and with a program like 7-zip or winzip, unzip it in a folder, then copy the dchu_VMD folder in the windows installation USB and when windows is installed and asks you for the driver it gives you the path to that folder and then follow the installation steps.

No HP notebook or laptop is compatible with XMP memory, so the BIOS is not compatible.
