The update utility said it made some changes.  I rebooted, but it is still the same.  This may be a 64 bit machine.  Orginally it had windows 8 on it.  There are many updates listed. I changed it to update only windows 10 and not all microsoft product. Still the same. It sits there for 30 minutes doing nothing. Do you have any more suggestions?

Since  I made the change, that is , ran the utility and it made a change with something to do with registration, when I reboot the messages come up saying try later, cannot get on the net work at this time. I  put in my password and it books up again and is getting on the internet. The updates that are avaiable are KB4010250, 1607, KB3210721, driver for  touch pad, KB3161102,KB3181403KB3172729, KB3152599.

Help me please.

Do a DISM repair to restore health of system files
Option 1: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7808-dism-repair-windows-10-image.html

Run it twice. Restart system after each run.

Then do SFC scan:
Option 3: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2895-sfc-command-run-windows-10-a.html

Restart system, check.

No need of boot discs. Please follow my previous suggestion in order.

I must be reading the instructions wrong. Option one told me to get my boot disks and boot from them and then click on repair. I do not have my boot disk any more

HP Recommended

Just do DISM /RestoreHealth Command from elevated command prompt at booting to Windows.

OK thanks I will try it.
