Hi Clarens,

OK. 16GB will definetly work. Now 32GB is more "at your own risk", in that it is not guaranteed. DDR4 systems should work with 32GB of RAM.

Hope it helps,

David

Ok, I'll purchase today 8Gb extra Ram and Will keep you informed.

Kind regards.

Hello again,

You mean that this page is also wrong? https://www.mrmemory.co.uk/memory-ram-upgrades/hp-compaq/business-notebook/250-g6

It says only one slot!

Pufff crazy!

HP Recommended

Yes, wrong too. However, you could remove the base enclosure (9 screws) to take a look for yourself. I posted a link to videos for that model above.

Remove battery

Remove optical drive (if present)

Remove base enclosure (there are screws under the rubber feet). Once removed the screws you can use a plastic tool such as guitar pick or credit card to slide along between upper and lower enclosure (they click into eachother) liberating the plastic hooks.

Let me know,

David

Hiya,

Know this is a little late info, but HP initially deemed the laptop as not having "Customer Access".  That is why you were told 8GB maximum, as that's the most that can be purchased pre-installed.

The only times, on a 64-bit build, that you'll need to worry about it supporting more RAM or not is when you:

1. Don't know what motherboard is inside the shell and can't find anyone that has already tested it.

2. Have found out all you can about the device, but others testing it have had issues getting it to recognise the RAM.

So sometimes, even with a 64-bit machine and a second RAM slot, you may be limited to less than you need if the other hardware doesn't allow it.  But if you can see everyone else has successfully upgraded it? Why not, take a chance. (Just make sure you get the same spec of RAM that's in there already, a lot of people are caught out by motherboards that require low voltage RAM and you could be wasting resource if voltages and latencies are different).
