I have HP 250 G6 notebook. I got it in December 2017, and I am a very careful user. I never dropped the laptop. A few times I noticed some clicking type sound from left hinge but didn't think much of it, but a couple days back it completely broke and the screen is split. I got in touch with hp because I know it is a problem with the design not with how I used the laptop. They sent me a quotation for repair which is actually more than I originally paid for the brand new laptop 2 years ago. I'd rather buy a cheap used laptop right now than pay that much for a repair when I'm already struggling. Is this the only solution? Has anybody had it repaired themselves, not from hp, would it cost less? How much can I reasonably expect to pay for it? I have used many laptops over the years, Dell, Asus, others from HP and never experienced anything like this. My laptops never physically broke to be honest. And now they're asking for more than original price just for the repair, doesn't really make sense to me. Well, one thing is for sure I'm never buying HP again.
