Hi all,
Upgrading the SSD shows to be impossible as the BIOS seems to be fixed to only allow a Modell SanDisk SD9SN8W-256G-1006, I have not found a way to upgrade the BIOS so that they allow placing any other drive other than using an adapter and swaping the DVD/CD drive for a second drive. The Laptop was perchased secondhand and shows little promise using it as hoped as the upgrading options show to be extreem limited. Or is there a solution? P.S. There seems to be no way to register the device by HP support as the SN is not recognized.
With one anothrer not against each other.

A NVMe SSD will only work in a HP 255 G7 that has an AMD Ryzen processor.
255 G7's with the AMD 'A' series processors only support M.2 SATA SSD's.

Thanks Paul
this video shows a 255 g7 upgrade that uses the M.2 SATA-III type drive.

If you have the "A" series then the recommended M.2 SSD would look like this one (which is listed in the comments of that video)
It is NOT an NVME type M.2
