Hi, I am going to buy a HP 255 G7 laptop. This laptop has a non-removable battery but if you unscrew the chasis the battery is available to be removed.
Q: Is this laptop working powered by a power adapter WITHOUT an inserted battery?
I often use a laptop powered by an adapter and charging the battery continuously to 100 % when it is not removable is killing it.

Yes, it will work. However, there could be a couple of problems. The notebook does not have an RTC battery (CMOS) so you might get an error message each time you start up the PC.
If there is a power outage during use, it could corrupt data and if the data is system files it could corrupt the whole system.
Hope it helps,
David

Hi,
When you charge the battery to 100% it automatically stops charging and will not start charging again until it falls below a certain level (I believe about 5%). So you can leave the PC with ac adapter attached.
In any case usually, batteries should be replaced about every 18-24 months.
Hope it helps,
David

Hi, thanks for your response but you haven´t provided the answer to my question. I don´t want to keep the battery charged to anything close to 100 %.
So the question is still - will be this laptop working with a power adapter attached AND with the battery removed?
