Q: Will the laptop operate without being connected to its panel?

IOW, if I disconnect the ribbon cable tethering the panel to the mobo, will the device still function? Not accepting speculative replies here; I am only interested in comments from folks who've done the deed.

Reason...

Like 99% of other owners of this laptop, the screen broke due to poor industrial design. But I'm past that. It's still a usable machine, and the thing works just fine with a monitor, which sits directly on top of the LCD display as a demonstration of my contempt. Before I go thru the onerous chore of disconnecting the cable, I figured I'd ask.

Will be no problem. Tested many lower halves of laptops without screens connected to the motherboard with a cable; just output video through the HDMI port or if you have one a USB-C port with DP output
