Hi:

Since the W10, W8.1, W8, or W7 drivers don't work for the device, the only solution I have been able to offer to forum members with the HP Mobile Data Protection device hardware version your notebook has, is to manually install the Windows XP 64 bit driver.

Download and save, but do not run this driver...

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58201.exe

Then download and install this free file utility. The 2nd one on the top of the page is for 64 bit.

https://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the XP driver file you saved.

Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file to it folder name (sp58201).

Once that is done, go to the device manager, click on the unknown Mobile protection device needing the driver, click on the driver tab.

Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

You're very welcome.

Sorry that trick didn't work for you like it has for the many other forum members I gave it to, such as these two...

Thanks a lot for advice.

It works. Perfect.

Just got another issue.

Sometimes when I restart this 4540s Pro laptop, I don't have internet connection (even the wifi is select to auto connection) and I have to connect it again.

Do you think its related with driver problem? None of other devices got same issue on that network.

Thanks a lot once again.

Martin
