Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an HP 15 AB153nr Note Book and have recently upgraded the ram, paging through google i have found a screen that could potentially upgrade my machine, but its a 30 pin, and the display cable i am currently using is a 40 pin. If i need to buy an additional screen cable, let me know.

if I need any aditional drivers i can preinstall those before is swap over the screen, have a secondary spare i have dissabmled and fiddled with.

Screen can be seen here,

Also wondering if a backlit keyboard will fit my machine, as the cost of upgrading both the keyboard and the screen outweights buying a brand new laptop.

Potential Keyboard Swap can be seen here.

Cheers!

Have a good Day 🙂

Here is the screen you have now:

BrightView, HD, flat 809371-001

Its a 30 pin bottom right connector. So if you want to upgrade to an FHD you need a screen compatible with this part number:

AntiGlare, FHD, slim 809372-001

https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Spare-Part-P-N-809372-001-LED-LCD-Screen-15-6-FHD-Slim-Laptop-Display-Ne...

This is a drop in replacement. This model uses the same screen cable for HD and FHD panels. There is no 40 pin cable available or really needed. The panel you linked would not work.

Good luck and let us know if you need more help and if this is the info you needed please accept as solution

@LaptopUpgrader

It should be ok with the screen but for keyboard, this part won't work because you also need motherboard which can supply power for keyboarf lights.

Regards.
