Hello,


I work at an MSP supporting thousands of computers and right now I have this blue screening HP Spectre X360 on my desk with a very swelling battery.  The computer intermittently stops seeing its m.2 SSD on bootup.  I assume the swelling battery is the cause of the other issues.  As soon as I removed a corner screw on the back panel, it was pushed open by the battery.  I am thankful that I did not have a battery explode in my face.

 

A quick search of the battery model 928427-271 revealed that this recent model HP Spectre X360 has a known issue with battery bloating.

 

Has there been a warranty extension for this issue and how can I get replacement parts comped by HP?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the replacement battery. 

 

 

You may order the replacement parts on the HP Parts Store, use the HP Parts Surfer to find the part number and If you've already looked for it and couldn't find it on the HP Parts Store, you may want to get it locally at the online store such as Amazon or eBay, etc...as the part numbers are universal. 

  

Alternatively, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started: 

  

1) Click on this link

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step: 

3) Enter the serial of your device. 

4) Select the country from the drop-down. 

5) Click on "Show Options". Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
