I have an HP ChromeBook, (specifically the x360 14c-ca0053dx) and it will not turn on. When I plug it into the charger, the charging light blinks, and the power button light blinks, and the fan spins up to full speed and then the computer shuts off. It repeats this endlessly until the battery dies. Closing the laptop makes no difference. Even after unplugging the battery and plugging it back in, it does this. It does NOT stop unless it has absolutely no power. I took the entire laptop apart and looked at the motherboard carefully to see if there are any signs of damage, but it looks pristine. I tried doing a hard reset, unplugging the battery many times, and even disconnecting certain parts of the computer from the motherboard to see if that would help. I have had no luck, and am at a total loss on how to fix it. I have been fixing laptops for awhile now, even doing board level repairs, and I have never seen anything like this. Any kind of help would be most appreciated. Thank you for your time and have a great day!

this looks like a Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support.

If possible, I’d like to try to repair it myself as it’s an older laptop and I could probably find parts for it on eBay pretty cheaply. I will contact HP tech support though and see what they say. With any luck, it’s something pretty simple. Thank you for your time!
