Hi @APS93,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Screen Specifications:
- Please review your Chromebook's specifications to verify that it supports stylus input. Not all Chromebooks have the necessary hardware for styluses, especially those with active digitizer support.
HP USI Stylus:
- If your HP Chromebook supports Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) standards, you can use a USI stylus. HP sells a USI stylus that is compatible with many Chromebooks that support this standard.
Visit Retail Options:
- Consider visiting HP or electronic retail stores where you can verify stylus compatibility with a demonstration model, if available. This can also help ensure proper functionality with your specific device.
By confirming the compatibility of your Chromebook with stylus technology, you can make a more informed purchase that best suits your needs.
I hope this helps.

Hey @Kuroi_Kenshi
I appreciate the response.
I have just purchased this laptop.
I did search "screen specifications" into the settings search and nothing came up regarding stylus.
It is a touchscreen laptop,
I am looking to purchase a stylus,
If I purchase a HP USI stylus and it doesn't work on my Chromebook, can I get a refund?
Usually a simple Google search matches the appropriate product or the stylus is next the touchscreen product in-store to make it simple and easy to purchase.
It's a lower end Chromebook but a stylus would be beneficial addition.
As I have called a few places and they don't know the answer / have an available product.
Is there a HP USI stylus model compatibility list?
Cheers,
Ash

Hi @APS93,
Thank you for the response.
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the HP Support Community!
We appreciate you choosing HP and understand that you're looking to confirm stylus compatibility for your HP Chromebook 14a-nf0000 (Product: A1NF6PA).
After reviewing the specifications of your Chromebook model, we’d like to clarify a few key points:
🔹 Touchscreen Functionality: While your Chromebook does include a touchscreen, not all touchscreen panels support active styluses such as those based on the Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) standard.
🔹 Stylus Compatibility: Active styluses like the HP Rechargeable USI Pen may not function as expected on your device.
🔹 Alternative Stylus Option: You may consider using a capacitive (passive) stylus, which works similarly to finger input and is suitable for basic tasks like tapping, scrolling, and light drawing.
We hope this helps you make an informed decision, and we're here if you have any further questions.
