Bought HP 14" Touhscreen 2-in-1 Chromebook (Intel Core i3-1115G4/128GB )  1 week ago
Replacing à very old Acer Chromebook that  never had this problème

I can sometimes hear the fan , very loud, and only half of the vent is super hot, the other half , only ‘warm’

Kind of disappointed ,  cause other than that it seems ok. I might need to return it if there is no solution .

Thanks

@Chris_P55 -- always put the Chromebook on a hard surface, not a table-cloth or your lap, to ensure that the air-intake vents are not obstructed.  Same for the exhaust vent.

Note that the first time that any computer (laptop, desktop, notebook, Chromebook) connects to the Internet, it probably "calls home" to download many security updates.  This "work" will exercise the CPU, causing it to heat up. Maybe, let it "update" for a few days, and then re-evaluate the Chromebook.
