Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade the device to 8GB (2x4GB) which is the max that the Athlon Phenom II appears to support.

I am unable to find a voltage spec any where and the original Samsung is dual voltage per the Samsung site.

I am looking at 2 Crucial items:

CT2KIT51264BF160B CT2KIT51264BF160BJ

Other than the price I can not tell what the difference is.  I am guessing its that one uses a higher density DRAM which I assume is the lower price one.  I also know some CPUs don't support the higher density chips, though Crucial does approve both for this specific device.

They also are 1600 speed, but I expect hats backward compatible to the 1333.

I appreciate any comments, insight or experiences with these items.

I have pinged Crucial, but its the weekend.

I have searched high and low for the voltage spec, it's not in the manual.

I got the HP spare number from one of the manual as 621569-001 and ran this thru ebay.  I crossed this to the following manufacturer's parts:

  • Hynix 4GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600S-9-10-F2                 HMT351S6BFR8C-H9 N0 AA 1117
  • Hynix 4GB 2Rx8 PC3-12800S-11-11-F3               HMT351S6CFR8C-PB N0 AA 1224
  • Samsung 4GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600S-09-11-F3         M471B5273DH0-CH9 1132

The installed Samsung is dual voltage, but I found the Hynix  spec sheets and they both say 1.5V so I that validates the voltage. The second item is 1.5V 12800 which looks backward compatible (to 667 if someone wanted).

Crucial claims their parts will work, but specs them as 1.35 volts.  I see nothing indicating they are dual voltage, but generally have trusted Crucial.

The Corsair does seem to be a better fit to the original (thin) spec, thanks

Hi:

This memory should work for your model...

DDR3L will not work. It has to be 1.5V.

DDR3/L-PC12800 most likely won't work either.
