I have the exact same problem of broken higes and it is making the screen break as well, it has a good processor an di pretty liked my pc and used a very little as i have gadgets as well ,

i really want to know if hp will replace this problem , i am sure we all who have complained the same problem deserve a replacement , may it not be a better one but atleast the same specs

please join hands and lets reach the customer service that what do they say about it .

my boken also.. does HP know it is defective hinges or design? what is going on, mine just 2year old.. what number did u call, I am sure i am not going be the last one to file complain of this matter , if no result i will report to consmer report.. did u got your fix? help me

What is Jeff's solution?

Is the suggestion we keep sending our laptops back to HP each year and paying them to fix a problem that is/was an inherent problem with the original design of the product?

I am having the same Problem, after only 2 years  with the dm4-1160us the left hing is completely broken.

This seems to be a BIG problem across many of the HP series.

This was my first laptop purchase.... Never again.

The most annoying thing is the software runs great, but the hardware is simply subpar.

Very disappointed, I wonder why a recall has not been issued.
