There has been an HP Download error - 0x8024a206 showing in my WIndows Update for a long time and I cannot get rid of it. How can I remove this failed download error?

The following might be useful
I suspect that driver is not needed. Please read the following
USB drivers are needed for older OS such as XP or Vista.

Thank you for responding, but I am using Windows 11 (not 10) so I hesitate attempting those suggestions. It seems that every time I search for support, what is specified does not match what I see on my screen.

Those USB updates are dated 2019 and win11 came out in 2021. They are not need and can be hidden as suggested by @Paul_Tikkanen in that 2nd url above and here below
I assume your USB ports are working and the problem is just update keeps showing up.

Hi, @joyandme09
Please refer to this discussion...
To get rid of those updates in W11, they seem to be a bit more stubborn from the feedback I have received.
On W11, the updates remain present even if you restart the PC, so you have to keep rapidly clicking on 'Retry' until they eventually go away.
As far as any other resolution to the problem is concerned, unfortunately I do not know of any, and unless you are able to get those doggone updates to go away, they are going to gum up the Windows update system.
They will never install.
