Never seen a touchpad all in one too big and impossible to work not sure if this is a bad design gone unnoticed and why hp with a good reputation would allow this to happen. The machine looks good but the touchpad is not for this reason I'm not keeping it and will buy a different brand this time.

Well, after just putting up with this problem for over a year (i dont use touchpad much, just mouse) i think its getting better.
Update to windows 10!
I was reluctant to upgrade to win10, but now that I know my software will work on it, I upgraded. The first thing I noticed was that the touchpad is suddenly much better than before. Not perfect, but still heaps better.
I guess half the problem was that windows 8 was rubbish...
Hope it works out ok for all of you too, good luck!

Mine is the 14-k110nr, windows 8.1 As soon as I release the cursor, it jumps spmewhere else on the screen. This is only true with the touchpad, but an external mouse works as exoexted. I would like to be able to use the laptop on the run without a mouse though.
