HP Recommended

This power button issue is obviously a manufacture’s defect. I have an HP envy X360 still under the original manufacture’s warranty and the power button stopped functioning. I sent the laptop in and it sat for a week without the status being updated to reflect that it wouldn’t be received by the promised date listed on the status site. My laptop has been gently used and highly cared for and HP is stating the power button doesn’t function due to consumer negligence and want $609.78 to fix the power button because they have to also replaced the power button board. I purchased the computer for $799.99, so the power button is worth $609.78. The most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. Stand by your product HP. They would be able to tell if they were true customer negligence such as fluid being spilled on it or dropped because other components would obviously break and there would be scratches and dents to the exterior. This is HP flexing their corporate muscle to screw the honest consumer. I am completely done with HP products and will return to Apple. Apple is worth the extra costs.
