HP ENVY X360-DS0155NG
Other

Hey,

I have bought my HP ENVY X360-DS0155NG a while ago. I used it with the AC Adapter that was inclueded (non typ-C) and it worked perfectly fine. I now bought myself a USB-C PD 3.0 Capable Power Bank and A PD 3.0 Capable charger. Both have around 65W of power. So far I only recieved the Power Bank. I tried plugging the Laptop in with a typ-c to typ-c cable that supports a maximum of 100W. Nothing happend. My Powerbank showd that the device is drawing 5V at 0.00A. Which is nothing. After about 1-2 Minutes my laptop showed that it is charging and the Power bank showed 20V at around 3A. Now my problem is that it takes a long time until my laptop starts accepting power over the typ-c port. Sometimes it doesnt work at all. Can someone help me?

@Luis-L, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This model Notebook does not support a USB type-C charging power cable/adapter. Product specifications can be found here.

For more info, refer to page 2 of the service guide (power requirements).

The USB Type-C port connects a USB device that has a Type-C connector, provides data transfer, and even when the computer is oƫ, charges most products such as a cell phone, camera, activity tracker, or smartwatch. – and – Connects a display device that has a USB Type-C connector, providing DisplayPort output.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hey @Kumar0307 thanks for your answer. Thats weird, the place where I bought it stated that it supports PD 3.0 and also one of your websites states a usb port with PD 3.0 support. If I leave my powerbank on my laptops typ-c port sometime after some seconds/minutes it will start charging. Here is the your site I am referring to:

https://support.hp.com/de-de/document/c06575114

It states: "1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (5 Gbit/s Signalrate, Power Delivery 3.0, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge);". Can you explain to me why its now sometimes charging over typ-c? If my laptop doesnt support Charging over typ-c this shouldnt happen

@Luis-L

I understand your concerns.

Please perform the USB test and let us know.

1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose USB and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.

If the test is passed, please uninstall the USB host controllers from the device manager and update the BIOS.

Have a nice day!!
