HP Elite Dragonfly G2

Hi all, hope I can some help on this. I have an Elite Dragonfly G2 and have connected it to a Lenovo Gen 2 (LDA-KP) docking Station.

The charging symbol comes up on my laptop but it does not seem to be providing enough power as I run out of charge when using it. Anyone any ideas?

The dock supplies 20v 4.5A, and is connected via a dedicated Thunderbolt device port.

Thanks for any help,

JH.

The specs of your machine is

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06994777

It ONLY requires 65W charger, that means the Lenovo dock should have enough juice to charge your machine. The question mark here: Your machine has (2) USB USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports which are NOT Thunderbolt ports and the specs of your Lenovo Gen 2 (LDA-KP) dock is

             https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/accessories/acc500106-thinkpad-usb-c-dock-gen-2-overview-and-servic...

Definitely they are NOT compatible. Please note: not all USB-C ports are the same. If you wish FULLY compatible, please use the following list

(Note: the compatible list is on the last few pages).

@Banhein Thanks so much for speedy reply. The 2 ports have lightning symbol on them, so presume they are Thunderbolt? On the spec sheet it looks like the left-hand-side USB-A is the charging port, but that seems to mean I would need 2 cables in order to use the Lenovo dock (1 x USB-A for power and second USB-C ) to use monitors etc?

Thanks again,

It can charge small devices such as phones, tablets ... You can't use it to charge your machine.

Guys small discrepancy in info provided by @Banhein

The 2 ports on the RHS are Thunderbolt, so question is still unanswered.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,

JohnH

Which one ? All their specs show:

  • The HP machine has (2) USB USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports which are not Thunderbolt
  • The Lenovo dock does not mention Thunderbolt at all

I would NEVER use cross vendors for expensive accessories

Regards.

HP Elite Dragonfly Notebook PC G2 - Customizable - as you can see the Gen 2 has Thunderbolt.

Ok. I did say Leveno dock and your machine are not compatible and gave you a list of available docks for your machine. I also said I would NOT but cross vendors expensive accessories because they USE their standards.

No worries @BanHeim thank you for trying to help. Much appreciated.

Sorry, but in case this may help others, and not misguide them, I have to disagree and confirm HP have said the two ports, on the rhs ARE Thunderbolt, but agreed best to use a HP docking station.
