Hi all,
I have HP ZBook 17 G5 Mobile Workstation IDS Base Model, on which I would like to connect HP Elite thunderbolt 3 dock.
Until now without success.
Message in Device Manager is :
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
If anybody has any good ideas or maybe experience in similar situation, I would appreciate if you will share...
Best regards to the community
Sorry... there is an answer already on the forum:
...and it seems it is working....
thanks

HP has many docks, specially 2 docks has very similar name
- HP Elite thunderbolt 3 dock
- HP thunderbolt 3 dock
Dock 2 may compatible with your computer but dock 1 is NOT compatible, it is compatibe with HP ProBook x360 11 G1 EE; HP Elite X2 1012 G2; HP EliteBook x360; HP Elite x2 1012 G1 Tablet; HP EliteBook Folio G1
Regards.

... ah compatibility story again...
Isn't Thunderbolt a standard?
Isn't USB-c a standard?
Why do all mice work?
why do all external drives work?
and so on...
But that's not the worst thing... the bigger problem is that I don't have anywhere to put the dock itself... it has a short and stiff cable that loses contact every now and then because it connects to the side of the computer, not to mention the original power cable that is as thick as thumb and the connector at the end is at an angle so that the computer can be pulled from the table, not just the docking station.
Disaster!
Where did the good custom of having all the ports on the back of the computer go...
I don't understand... really...
