Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Accidentally poured the laptop is sweet tea. After that, cleaned, washed, everything worked fine.

A day later the laptop hung. After the reboot, the keyboard and touchpad stopped working. Caps lock is always on (not flashing) on the keyboard. Changed to another keyboard. Caps lock is also permanently (not flashing) lit.

Caps lock turns off only at the start and lights up again. In BIOS and in diagnostics keyboard and touchpad also not works.

In all other respects, the laptop with an external keyboard works fine.

But there is a suspicion that it became faster to discharge in sleep mode.

What could be the problem?

Sorry to say it is the spill. Effects can be delayed. When you have a spill like that the only way to be sure the laptop will be OK is to stop using it, completely disassemble and have the internal components cleaned and dried.

After that, I completely disassembled it, cleaned, washed, dried, put a new keyboard, but nothing has changed,

what elements on the motherboard should be checked for malfunction?

what fault shows constant light Caps lock on the keyboard?

it's been 2 months and I can't fix it, but I work with it through an external keyboard

HP Recommended

It's the keyboard ribbon cable port on the motherboard. There is no way to repair it other than replacing the motherboard.

the touchpad doesn't work for the same reason?

it is connected to another port on the other side of the motherboard

Do you have a better explanation? Liquid spill followed by loss of function I would say the latter has something to do with the former, right?

I completely agree, but I do not understand the relationship of the simultaneous malfunction of the keyboard and touchpad. These are two different modules. All other ports work correctly.

Now I do not understand one thing.  What does a constantly light capslock ?  What kind of malfunction does it signal?

Is it possible that the new keyboard is not compatible with laptop?  Can a laptop verify keyboard identity?

Thanks.

I have the same problem. I have been using it as a tablet. However I was hoping that there is a way that you can solder new parts on the mother board? Do you know if that is a possibility?

Instead of buying a new system board is there a way that you can solder new ports on to the board?
