Product: HP EliteBook 830 G5 Notebook PC

Hi everybody,

 

First of all, please tell me if I'm in the wrong category, and if you can, please move my topic in the right one. Thank you.

 

I have a problem with my Elitebook 830 G5.

I forgot the BIOS password, and tried to reset it by disconnecting both the battery and the CMOS battery, but it seems that this is more difficult than just doing that, due to the security level in these professional laptops.

Does anyone know if this can still be done in the way described here ? https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/hp-elitebook-bios-password-rese...

Because I tried to contact support by phone, and the guy told me this was not possible anymore (but maybe he didn't knew about this).

Or is there another way to do it?
