HP EliteBook 840 G5 Notebook PC

Hi,

the fan is always running. It seems to be an BIOS problem. By upgrading on Win 11 with the newest BIOS version (Q78 Ver. 01.28.00) the problem came up. I tried to use an older BIOS version (Q78 Ver. 01.16.00), but nothing changed.

The fan runs randomly on 100 %, somestimes for several hours, sometimes for 20 minutes.

By the way, temp is low ~ 35° - 40°

I would really appreciate, if someone (HP customer service?;)) could help me! THX!

Hi,

i already cleaned the vent before!

And the fan is running very randomly.

In another post i read about the Bios problem with the 850 G5. They solved it with the Bios downgrade.

I am not sure what to do. With the old Bios it is a little bit better, because the fan is running max for 20 minutes and not for several hours.
