will it work to mix a 2gb and a 4gb dimm ?

Hi, @SmurfOne
It will work, but that is not a good configuration to have because when you mix different capacities of memory, it only runs at the single data rate (SDR) mode instead of DDR mode.
Some folks would argue that you are better off adding another 2 GB module and have 4 GB running in DDR mode, then having 6 GB running in SDR mode.
Did you have a problem getting the keyboard off?
I have an Elitebook 6930p which looks much like your notebook and I had the keyboard off in less than 2 minutes.
Mine had 3 screws in the bottom with a keyboard illustration, and 4 plastic tabs between the Fn keys that you slide toward you. The the keyboard lifts up.
I did not remove the keyboard cable. I just held it up, removed the 1 GB memory module and installed a 4 GB memory module.
