HP Envy 13 ab000nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I just bought the HP Envy 13 ab000nd. I want to charge this laptop with the HP 45W USB Type-C AC Adapter (p/n     828769-001).

But when I plug the charger in the USB-C port nothing happens.

As far as I can find

 - the original non usb-c charger for this laptop is also 45W.

 - the specs say this laptop supports charging over USB

Does anybody have any clue about what goes wrong / why it isn't charging.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

 Salvolin

After going through you post, I did go through the product specifications and found that there is no Thunderbolt port available on your PC, That could be the reason why you are not able to charge using USB.

Hi @jeet_singh,

I am afraid your answer is the correct one.I was mislead by some review / advertisement that said this laptop could sleep and charge over USB. In the end I now found out that means the laptop can charge a phone through USB and the charging isn't the other way around. To bad for me as I was really hoping to use my HP travel hub to connect it with power, a monitor. Keyboard and mouse. I guess now I have to plugin two cables each morning. Power and the hub for the rest.

Thanks for your time.
