i bought this laptop 5 months ago, and from the very beginning i can't get more than 3 hours on battery
i even disabled hyper threading to get there
can someone help me pls?

If you're experiencing poor battery life with your HP Envy 16 h1xxx laptop, here are some steps you can follow to potentially improve its performance:

1. Power Settings Adjustments

  • Reduce Screen Brightness: Lowering your screen brightness can significantly extend battery life.
  • Power Plan: Choose a power plan that is optimized for battery life.
    • Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings and select Power saver.

2. Turn Off Unnecessary Features

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Turn off these features if you’re not using them.
  • Background Apps: Disable apps running in the background.
    • Go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps and turn off unneeded apps.

3. Battery Saver Mode

  • Enable Battery Saver Mode.
    • Go to Settings > System > Battery and turn on Battery saver.

4. Update Drivers and BIOS

  • Make sure all your drivers and BIOS are up-to-date.
    • You can update them through HP Support Assistant.

5. Disable Hyper-Threading

  • Since you've already disabled hyper-threading, ensure all other high-performance configurations are set to a balanced mode to conserve energy.

6. Check Battery Health

  • You can check the battery health to determine if it might need replacement.
    • Open HP Support Assistant and check the battery status through the diagnostics tools provided.
