I just had the pleasure of my $1800+ Laptop almost catching fire because the hinge damaged the cable for the monitor and it shorted out. This is a known issue for this model, is HP going to fix this with a recall?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

All of the posts about the defective hinges and I'm being told by the HP Rep that this is not a known issue?!?!? **bleep**?!?!?!?
